Green screen studio 6 person setup

What was the goal?

Expansion of a studio for at least 5 people in front of 3 cameras, suitable virtual backgrounds for multiple camera angles and a tidy studio without a tripod forest. An irregular trapezoidal room section, various floor tanks, an escape route across the room and a large window front facing south must be taken into account.

Upshot

• A 12-meter green screen in an open U-shape allows multiple perspectives from 3 cameras, with which 5 people can be filmed in the appropriate format. Despite the wide window front, an additional black black-out fabric ensures that the lighting situation in the studio remains unchanged throughout the day.
• An individually adapted truss offers tripod-free lighting for people and green screen. Cables are routed across the truss without tripping. The entire structure takes into account the prescribed escape route across the room.
• The control room is equipped within budget with a simple video mixer and network connection, which is future-proof thanks to various upgrade options. Multiple lavalier microphones are processed directly in the video mixer without an additional audio mixer, simplifying production.
• All camera angles are decorated with coherent backgrounds from a virtual studio in corporate design and are automatically called up when the image is changed. The matching animated belly bands can be played in at the push of a button.

The demands placed on the room infrastructure are not uncommon, but always require a targeted selection of materials. Even with a limited budget, a concept out of the box will not meet any customer requirements.
