What was the goal?
A green screen studio for 5 speakers at the same time in full body keying in front of 3 cameras, automated by several departments for their own purposes and also a photo groin for the group's own photographers? All this in a limited area with a room height of only 2.48 m and existing security devices that must not be permanently installed. Without a single stand in the room.
Meticulous tinkering to make use of every gap in the room is the unofficial trademark of TACT MEDIA and was essential for this.
Upshot
- Through 3D printing, timber construction, welding and 2K coatings, every inch of space was used. The studio rail on the concrete ceiling guides the technology through the room and offers users the entire room area for green screen productions or photo shoots in a seamless groove. And all without a single stand.
- In front of the green screen, 5 people are cut simultaneously and with their whole bodies into several different virtual sets. The PTZ cameras offer maximum flexibility for people of different sizes. More than 20 camera settings were included in the automation, which can also be adjusted to the millimeter with the camera controller. Several dedicated hardware keyers deliver the best results despite compromises when choosing textile green screen, which must be quickly removable due to the building's security infrastructure.
- A microphone system for 12 speakers with a digital audio mixer is integrated into the automation.
- For complete control of studio technology, we have set up, configured and incorporated the appropriate network infrastructure into ongoing maintenance.
- We installed the photo groove on the walls we polished flat without losing a millimeter. The special 2K coating provides maximum durability with minimal reflection, is chemically resistant and can be wiped clean.
Recap
The wishes for the diverse use of the flat space were a welcome challenge. As a result, we see a lot of special construction from our workshop, a lot of custom work and a lot of experience that has been incorporated. Working with experienced users was and is always very effective, which was also a lot of fun for us throughout the project.
